Taking forward the legacy of previous years, the Department of Business Economics, Shivaji College organised INVOKE 2019 – The Annual Departmental Festival. The day-long affair left both, the organizers and the participants, sanguine.
With the theme of “Marketing for Millennials”, the day began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp by Prof V.K. Kaul, Ms Mariam Jamal, Ms Anshu Chopra, Ms Suman Kharbanda, Dr. Parul Behl, Ms Urvashi Sahitya, Mr. Ishu Thakur and Saras Sablok, and was followed by an inaugural speech by the Chief Guest, Prof. V.K Kaul (HoD, Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi), who, with his immeasurable experience gave the audience an insight on the topic of the day. He emphasized the importance of understanding the evolution of the market due to various innovations in the marketing ecosystem.
The event commenced with a workshop on “Marketing for Millennials” by Ms Mariam Jamal, Sr Designer, Branding and Communication at The Minimalist. She introduced The Minimalist by sharing some of their thought provoking social media creatives which left the audience impressed. Ms Mariam enlightened us with The Minimalist’s principles of minimalism and expressing one’s ideas through the right medium at the right time. She concluded by illustrating a case study on Bizongo, using various aspects of branding and marketing.
Apart from this informative and interactive workshop, a number of fun and frolic events were also organised. The Decisive Hunch, Total Lockdown and Gen-ish Quiz 2.0 were a grand success. Furthermore, Brand-Zoned 2.0, Cric-Star, and Treasure Hunt were greatly enjoyed. Stalls with exciting games were also put up across the college for everyone to enjoy. The event was further enhanced by the contribution of our sponsors Monster, NesPlus and Santusht.
Like every other year, the Department of Business Economics, Shivaji College organised a jovial and marvelous event. Like the spirits of the students and teachers of the department, the spirit of the fest was also high.
