Oh! Hello there!

People who have never dealt with depression think it’s just being sad or being in a bad mood. That’s not what depression is for me; it’s falling into a state of greyness and numbness.

Don’t you think Depression is complicated? It really is…. A lot of people confuse it with a lot of things… For instance, depression and sadness are completely two different words. Depression is not only found among the upset people but also, it’s sometimes hidden within that big fat smile and laugh of a person.  


So before u wonder anything else, let’s get to the point…What the hell is depression? Any thoughts in mind there buddy? let’s see how right you are…

Depression is kind of a brain damage… where u get affected internally…. You feel lost… You feel empty… This is just a general idea… According to the American dictionaries…

“Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act”

Let’s talk about THE WARNING SIGNS of depression

  1. Feeling trapped inside your head
  2. Feeling worthless and taking risks ( serious ones )
  3. Frequently talking about deaths and self harm
  4. A lot of mood swings , getting irritated quickly
  5. Feel like you are a burden to everyone, No hope for future (Feeling hopeless)
  6. Want isolation from everyone and escaping from everything.

These are some warnings and symptoms of depression.

Now that you know what it is… Do you feel you have been through a similar thing? Are you in it now? Maybe you really need help and that’s the reason you came across this writeup.

Well Not boring you let’s move on to some story telling, shall we?

Here’s story number one…. U ready? hell you are…

There was this girl who was crazy funny and had a hell lot of friends…. Everyone loved her except her. She had this smile and laugh on her face all the damn time but behind the closed doors she would become a person who no one could love easily. She made everyone laugh… was always ready to help anyone who approached her for help… Her journey continued… She later found her own solutions to the problems… She took self-harm as her only escape from the sadness she had inside…

Let’s pause a bit….

What do you think was she right? If your answer is Yes…. Then lemme ask you a simple question… Is anything worth more than you and your life? Before you answer it… Let me tell you the correct answer… NO…. Nothing in this world is more important than YOU…. You might have a lot of struggles and problems in your life. They might make you weak, they will try to weaken you every time…. But it’s your choice whether to fight against them or let them affect you…

If your answer is No…. Then congrats!!… I am so glad to know that.

We will discuss these things later again…. For now, I promised you stories no? So, let’s move ahead to another story…

So, the hero of this story is a boy who lost his parents at an early age… Yes, he was an orphan. He started living in an orphanage because none of his family members wanted to adopt him… He started his new life with his new family. He never turned back to those who left him in times of trouble and moved on with the new family who loved him in his hard times. At times he used to cry to have a family just like any orphan kid who wants parents a proper family BUT he never let those tears make him weak. He studied hard; he took out all the anger he had for the family who left him behind over his academics. Then he was adopted by a couple who raised him with proper education and facilities and he made his orphanage and his parents proud. He later opened a school for the orphans who had big dreams but lacked the opportunity….

So, what do you think? Compare the two stories….

The girl escaped from her problems and didn’t get anything other than sadness and a not so happy ending. She might have been successful, might have a lot of friends BUT was she happy? Was she satisfied with what she had?  Another question is… Was she right in doing what she did?

Answer to all the questions is a NO.

And coming to the boy… Was the guy upset? Yes. Did he cry too behind closed doors and sometimes hid things with a smile? Yes. BUT Did he let his tears ruin him? NO. Was he happy in the end? Was he satisfied with his life? Hell Yes.

See there is the difference we don’t see….

So, without wasting anymore time let’s come to the solutions to depression.

The best solution is COMMUNICATION. We all have heard the saying that communication is the key. Well that’s true. Start talking…. If things get worse talk to your friends, your family, your relatives or anyone you could think of in times of need.

Next solution I might wanna suggest is meditation. If done properly it keeps your anxiety and thoughts in check.

Third treatment can be talk to a Psychiatrist. They might help you to stay positive and calm.

The fourth and last treatment is Medical treatment which is only suggested when none of the above-mentioned work.

If you don’t think your anxiety, depression, sadness and stress impact your physical health, think again. All of these emotions trigger chemical reactions in your body, which can lead to inflammation and a weakened immune system. Learn how to cope, sweet friend. There will always be dark days.
